Tractor tyre pressure for agricultural tyres

Däcktryck.se is a free tool for finding the right inflation pressure for tractor and agricultural tyres. The catalogue lists 4990 tyres from 14 manufacturers with dimensions and load index. For 2538 of them the manufacturer's own load and pressure table is included, by speed.

The correct tyre pressure depends on how much each tyre carries and how fast you drive. All values come from the manufacturers' published catalogues; always check against the manufacturer's current documentation before setting the pressure.

Frequently asked questions about tractor tyre pressure

What tyre pressure should I run in my tractor tyres?

It depends on the load per tyre and the speed. Pick the tyre in the Pressure guide, enter load and speed, and the app shows the inflation pressure from the manufacturer's load and pressure table. If the manufacturer has no table, no pressure is shown.

Should I use different tyre pressures in the field and on the road?

Usually yes: manufacturers' tables generally allow a lower pressure at low speed than at road speed for the same load. The Lastkalkyl (load calculator) tab suggests pressures for both field (about 10 km/h) and road (about 40 km/h).

How do I work out the load per tyre?

Divide the axle load by the number of tyres on the axle. Lastkalkyl works out axle and tyre loads from the tractor's weight and front and rear implements, and the Pressure guide handles both single and dual fitments.

Can I change tyre size on my four-wheel-drive tractor?

The front and rear rolling circumferences must suit the tractor's gear ratio between the axles, otherwise the front axle lead is wrong. In Tire choice you pick a tractor and get front/rear tyre pairs that give an approved lead of 0.5–5.0 %.

What is front axle lead (advance ratio)?

Lead is how much faster the front wheels turn than the rear wheels on a four-wheel-drive tractor. It depends on the gear ratio between the axles and the tyres' rolling circumference, and is calculated in the Lead and Theoretical lead tabs.
